This is a very simple drink, possibly the first to be called a cocktail.
Ingredients
| 2 measures | Bourbon |
| 1 | Sugar cube |
| a dash | Angostura bitters |
| 1 measure | Soda water |
| Half a slice | Lemon |
| 1 | Maraschino cherry |
| Peel twist | Orange |
| Cracked | Ice |
Method
Place the ice cube in the glass and add a few drops of Angostura. One the bitters have been soaked up by the sugar cube, add cracked ice to the glass, and add the whisky and soda.
Garnish with half a slice of lemon and a cherry. Add a twist of orange and a muddler to the glass.
