This is one of the world's most famous cocktails, and has innumerable variations. This is the original version, created at the Trader Vic's "Polynesian-style" restaurant in Oakland, California in 1944.

Ingredients

1 1/2 measures White rum
1 1/2 measures Dark rum
3/4 measure Orange curaƧao
3/4 measure Orgeat syrup
1/2 measure Lime juice

Method

Shake all ingredients except the dark rum together in a mixer with ice. Strain into glass and float the dark rum onto the top. Garnish and serve.
